1.Let¡¯s Collect Our Wisdoms to Overcome Crises Sohn Kyung-shik, the the chairperson of the Korean Chamber of Commerce & Industry We have not yet recovered from aftermaths of the global financial crisis. However, we are again facing challenges due to the double dip economic of the U.S. and Europe¡¯s financial crisis. In this globalized world, one nation¡¯s crisis is also many others¡¯. Therefore, nations need to collaborate to overcome crises. This year¡¯s forum will be a venue for discussing East Asia¡¯s symbiosis and collaboration as well as collecting wisdoms to determine the future direction. May Asia Future Forum grow to become an influential forum that spreads Asian values and experiences. 2.We Need to Foster Asian Values Park Jae-wan, the minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance In the wake of the financial crisis, the greedy financial capitals are harshly criticized and the market economy is facing a crisis. Nonetheless, we need to hold the principles of market true to our hearts. Asian values were once challenged during Asian financial crisis. However, in the last decades, Asians continued to grow thanks to their effort to reform themselves. With Asians¡¯ unique genes, we need to create a ¡®warm economy¡¯ in which Asian values thrive. Let¡¯s overcome the current challenges with the principles of responsibility and symbiosis to create the 21st century era of Asia. 3.Time to De-polarize Kwak Seung-jun, the chairperson of the Presidential Council for Future&Vision Capitalist market economy has been evolving. Now, it is time to release the 5.0 version of Capitalism in order to lessen the income gap and promote depolarization. It is crucial to adopt Modified Capitalism, reforming the current economic system. In particular, we need to accomplish 4 major tasks in the field of economy. We need to create a healthy ecology and the corporate management needs to become transparent. Corporations need to take responsibilities by sharing, contribution and provide job opportunities to the socially underprivileged. We can dream a new Korea if and only if we transform Korea first. 4.Future Hope for Mutual Prosperity Park Won-soon, the Mayor of Seoul Asia has gained a strong stance in the international community, rising as the new driving force of the global economy. Asia could finally stand up straight when many Asian countries managed to resolve the trauma from the wars and colonization and uphold their unique national characteristics. Asian countries that have stood up on their own are now coming together to collaborate to achieve the goal of ¡®Symbiosis and Responsibility¡¯. We march individually, but we march together to dream creation of a community and imagine the future of mutual prosperity. I hope that Asia draws a more specific blueprint for the future of Asia.
